Fish, Milk & Dates
Things that never belong together.
The studio is named after an old Egyptian saying: fish, milk and dates, three things you never put on one plate. Their promise is that they make them look good together. The website had to prove that promise before saying it, so the home page is the saying itself, played out as you scroll.
You open on open water. A fish takes the hook, drinks from a glass of milk and swims off with the dates, and the saying is written out line by line as it happens. Only then does the page settle into the studio: who they are, the brands they grew, how they work.
The whole sequence is driven by the scroll, so the reader sets the pace. It plays on a phone as it does on a desk, and the rest of the site, the work, the services, the studio, is built in the same hand-drawn world. Built by hand and launched at fishmilkandates.com.
